BAKER, CHARLES A., 87, of Louisville, passed away Sunday January 27, 2013.

He was a member of St. Albert the Great and its St. Al's Aces Club, Holy Name Band, Wednesday Night Band, True Blues, co-leader Holden-Baker Orchestra, co-president of Christian Family Movement, Northern KY and The 39ers Club. He graduated from the University of Louisville, was a World War II veteran serving in the Navy and retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara L. Baker.

He is survived by daughters, Margaret Wernersbach (Alan) and Marilyn Ede (James); sons, Joseph L. Baker (Karen), Charles A. Baker (Dana), Bill Baker (Lynn) and Michael L. Baker (Barbara); 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Baker thanks the 4th floor Park Towers nursing staff at Baptist East Hospital.

His funeral Mass will be Friday, 9:30 am at St. Albert the Great, 1395 Girard Dr., with burial to follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, 2-8 p.m. at Ratterman's 3711 Lexington Road, in St. Matthews.

Memorial contributions in his name may go to St. Albert The Great or St. Vincent DePaul Society.
