86, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017.
She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and a retired Assist Principal from JCPS.
She is survived by her children, Ronald Lucas (Sandra) and Kelly Lucas; grandchildren, Christina, Jamie, Jamail, Shaina, Lauren and Erin, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation: 5pm-8pm Friday, August 18, 2017 at A. D. Porter & Sons, 1300 W. Chestnut St.
Memorial Service will be held 11am Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3815 W. Broadway.
In lieu of flowers send expressions to C.B. Lucas Scholarship Endowment Fund.

My sincere condolences to the Lucas Family for your heartaches of missing your mom. I cherished every opportunity I had, to see her when she came to Texas. She is not lost because she served almighty God and earned her mansion in heaven She let her light so shine and her light will forever shine through each of you. There are no words that can convey the influence Rev. and Mrs. Lucas had on my life as a child growing up at Emmanuel. Although my heart is saddened, I find solace in knowing that weeping may endure for the night but joy comes in the morning.

To Kelly, Ronnie and grandchildren Ms Lucas is with Rev Lucas, she lived without him since 1998, what a beautiful woman she was. I Loved seeing her at church when she could and she told me not to call her Ms Lucas, but to call her grandmother. What an honor to have her tell me this. Rest in heavenly peace.

Mrs. Charles Etta was an inspiration and exemplary role model to all who worked with her. especially, to me. I am grateful still for her calm, quiet demeanor and sound, sensible advice which always gave clarity, reason and solution to many seemingly impossible situations. She was an angel to me then as I know she is now.

Charles Etta was a gem of a woman. She was a neighbor of my mom and dad and would take mom to TOPS every Thursday because Mom couldn't drive. She was special and became a part of our family. She would call my dad brother. We will miss you and love you. Rest in Peace Charles Etta. Love the Filburns
