Obituary Condolences

SELLERSBURG - Ridenour, Charles J., 82, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was a native of Bluffton, IN, and retired from the Louisville Cement Company (now Essroc) after 43 years of service. Charles had a distinguished military career in the National Guard and the National Guard Reserves where he served as a Brigadier General.

He was very active with the Silver Creek Township Kiwanis Club having served on numerous state and international committees and served as Kiwanis Governor for the State of Indiana in 1984. He was active in many political and philanthropic organizations having received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Leadership Southern Indiana, the Humanitarian of the Year Award from the Red Cross in 2006 and the Sagamore of the Wabash award. He was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church having served as a Van Driver, Usher and on the Memorial Committee.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Norma Dickerson Ridenour.

Survivors include: his daughter, Denise Koenig (Keith); and his brother, William W. Ridenour Jr.

A funeral service celebrating Charles' life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville (1846 E. Oak St.) with burial in SCI-Graceland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
