PRICE, CHILTON SEARCY, 96, died Thursday, January 14, 2010 at her residence of natural causes.
A lifelong Republican (her father, Chesley Hunter Searcy, was a National Committeman from Kentucky) she became active in the 1960s and became Third District Governor of the Womens' Republican Clubs of Louisville and Jefferson County and a member of the State Central Committee.
Bridge was a hobby and she became a Life Master in 1986. Mrs. Price was also a member of Louisville Boat Club, Broadcast Music, Inc., The Womens' Republican Club, American Contract Bridge League, Filson Club and Southeast Christian Church.
She was recently inducted into the Atherton High School Hall of Fame and the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame. In October of 2009, she received the Governor's Award for a lifetime achievement in the arts.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert Lee Price.
Survivors include her daughter, Terrie Hunter Price Yaste (Jack ); two grandchildren, Cathy Chilton Davis and Lee Ann Yaste; and seven great-grandchildren.
At her request, there will be a private memorial service at a later date. Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane is entrusted with arrangements.
Memorial gifts may be made to American society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or to Kosair Charities.
