ASTORINO, CLOTILDE AMELIA VANUNI, slipped away peacefully on January 8, 2012, just a month before her ninety-third birthday.

She was a life-long resident of North Adams, MA, where she attend St. Anthony of Pauda parish, graduated from Drury High School, Class of 1936, and worked as an executive secretary for Sprague Electric. In 1953, Tillie entered her first national contest to name a Derby horse. Her second place win fueled a passion that spanned five decades of national cooking contest entries and brought her many awards, trips and friendships.
In addition to her parents, Mr. Louis Vanuni and Mrs. Alfreda Vanuni, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Astorino; and her siblings, Mary Sanders, Edith Brooks and Carl Vanuni.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Robert L. Astorino Sr. (Catherine); and two grandsons, Harold Fl Salsbery III and Robert L. Astorino Jr.
The family is grateful for the loving care of Tillie received at Daybreak-Sacred Heart Village, and from all the gentle staff at Pillars-Masonic Home.
Visitation will be held at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, 4-7 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2012. Prayer services will begin at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be at Southview Cemetery, North Adams, MA at 9 a.m. Tuesday January 17, 2012.
