Dolphine Bailey Obituary
NORTH VERNON - Bailey, Dolphine, 83, of North Vernon, IN, passed away at 11:55 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, IN.

Mrs. Bailey was born on January 14, 1930 in Louisville, KY the daughter of William H. and Cordellia Robertson Jones, Jr. She married Charles Jackson Bailey, Sr. on September 23, 1960 in Louisville, KY; he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Bailey worked for the Wal-Mart Store in North Vernon, IN for 15 years and had retired after 17 years from Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corp. in Louisville, KY She was a member of Corinthian Baptist Church, Foster Grandparent at St. Mary's School and Ladies Democrat all in North Vernon, IN. She was a volunteer at Jennings County Middle School during basketball games and for the St. Vincent de Paul Store in North Vernon, IN. She attended Central High School in Louisville, KY. Her enjoyments included going to church, reading the Bible, spending time with her family, sewing and crocheting.

She is survived by her son, Charles J. (Lottie) Bailey, Jr. of Louisville, KY; two daughters, Belinda (Kenneth) Wilson of Louisville, KY and Anita (Marlow) Miller of North Vernon, IN; a brother, William (Ruth) Jones of New Albany, IN; two sisters, Christine Howard of Dayton, Ohio and Dorthory Baker of Winston, South Carolina; nine grandchildren, twenty five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Charles J. Bailey, Sr.

Friends may call on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon, IN and 9 a.m. until the Funeral at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at G.C. Williams Funeral Home, 1935 W. Broadway St., Louisville, KY, with Burial in the Lebanon National Cemetery in Lebanon, KY.
