WILBERT, DONALD A., 76, of Louisville, passed away Friday, November 25, 2011.
Don was a loving father and husband who retired after 35 years of service with American Synthetic Rubber Company, a long-time parishioner of St. Rita Catholic Church and a Booster Club member. He is a member of Kentuckiana Football Officials Association "Hall of Fame", a former football and basketball referee, as well as a softball umpire.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Wilbert, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Mary "Lois" Wilbert; children, Teresa Glidewell, Cheryl Wilbert, Audrey Groves (Jay), Mark Wilbert (Marta); grandchildren, Kallie Wilbert, Brandon O'Tano-Groves, Garrett Groves; siblings, Louis Wilbert (Barbara), Janet Mussler (Doug), and William Byrd (Janet); as well as many nieces and nephews.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, November 29, 2011, 10 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 8709 Preston Hwy., with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 2 - 8 p.m. at Ratterman & Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road.
