VILLIER, DONALD B., 78, of Portland, passed peacefully at his home Sunday, April 28, 2013 surrounded by loving family and friends.
He was a native of Portland and a proud member of Teamsters Local #89 since 1962. He retired from McLean Trucking Co. in 1989. He loved Portland, the UK Wildcats, "the blues," horse racing, all things Churchill Downs and especially spending time with his family.
He is predeceased by his parents; his son-in-law, Greg Coons; sister, Della Huber; and brother, George "Junie" Villier.
Donnie is survived by his loving wife of 16 years and best friend of 27 years, Thea L. Villier; daughter, Lori J. Coons; son, Rusty Villier (Chris); the mother of his children, Edna Villier; sisters, Charlotte Wright and Mary McGoff (Ray); grandchildren, Sheri Cronen, Russ Villier (Julie), Michael Cronen (Ashley) and Shelby Villier; great-grandchildren, Ashton Cronen, Charlie Villier and his baby "Miss Molly;" and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 3511 Rudd Ave., with cremation to follow. Ashes will be placed at Cave Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 1-8 p.m. Wednesday at J.B. Ratterman & Sons, 2114 W. Market St.
