He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; and his daughter, Deanna Wilkins.
Floyd is survived by his children, Barry (Christine), Sherrill, Judy Obiedo, Lloyd, Gary (Susan) and Gene; 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; his brothers, Jesse and Gene; and sisters, Nora Miller and Elizabeth Quarles.
Floyd and Hazel moved to Louisville in 1939 from Muhlenberg County, KY. Floyd retired from Tube Turns, after more than 30 years of service. He was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and a professional boxer during the Depression Era. Although he was a man with a tough exterior, he had a great love for children and his dinner table was always open to family, friends or strangers.
His family would like to thank the staff of Meadowview Nursing Home, Dr. Jane Cornett and Angie Ethridge, APRN, for their care and kindness during his brief stay there.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Bosse Funeral Home, 1355 Ellison Avenue at Barret Avenue. His service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Entombment Calvary Cemetery, Newburg Road.
