FAUTH, GEORGE C. "CLETE," 91, of Louisville, died peacefully Saturday, June 15, 2013 at his residence in The Richwood.

He attended St. Columba Elementary School and graduated from Male High School. He was a member of St. Barnabas Church, the past treasurer of the Golden Key Club, and a member of the YMCA.

George was born with a serious heart defect that caused him to miss military service in World War II, something that troubled him greatly. He took a civil service position during the war years as his contribution. After the war he worked in the wood product industry with Mengel Plywood, and its successor United States Plywood. Mid career he became a real estate agent and earned his Broker's license. He retired from a sales position with Kruse Plywood and Plastics.

In retirement, he enjoyed travel, fishing and hiking. He was very proud of riding the rapids down the Colorado River at age 79. In his 80's he was still traveling with Toby Tours.

The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the staff of The Richwood for the love and care given to George during his stay.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary LaVerne Fauth; parents, George and Viola Fauth; brothers, Paul and Donald Fauth; and grandsons, Jeffery Fauth and Jason Cross.
