Jean Altes, 79, of Louisville, died Saturday, March 6, 2004, at Baptist Hospital East. She was born in Louisville, having lived in the family home until July of 1999 when she moved to The Forum. She was a retired data processing supervisor for Louisville Cement Company and a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ. Her "passion" in life, upon admission, was having more personal time. She had a beautiful smile and enjoyed socializing with a small group, reading newspapers and books, handwork and yardwork. She is survived by a niece, Kay (Roger) Moffitt of Seattle, WA; a great-niece, Natasha (Tim) Swan; a great-nephew, Quentin Moffitt; great-great-nieces, Madelyn and Sophia Swan; and several cousins, including Phyllis (Russ) Irvin of Noblesville, IN, and Milton (Ruth) Roggenkamp of West Lafayette, IN. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Embry-Bosse Funeral Home, 2723 Preston Hwy., with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday.
