SCHARDEIN, JOYCE OZARK, 77, of Louisville died Thursday, November 21, at her daughter's home.

She was the former Joyce Ozark Young, a native of Burkesville, KY, a member of the Songwriter's Club, and received an honorable mention from the Poetry Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward James Schardein; son, William "Billy" Schardein; grandson, James Temple; and her parents, Ress and Jewell Roach Young.
She is survived by her daughters, Laura Schweikarth (Gary Centers) and Mary Donna Early (Mike); son, Eddie Schardein (Vanessa Mills); special friend, Gayle Moore; brothers, Nile Young and Dewey Young (Ruth); sister, Bonnie Gatlin; grandchildren, Kerry Massie (Christina Hurt and children, Sara and Joanna), Heather Skillern (Foy), John Early (Latisha), Adam Early (Jessica), Brittney Wright (Wes); great-granddaughter, Ciara Massie; many loving nieces and nephews and other loving family members.
Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Embry-Bosse Funeral Home, 2723 Preston Hwy., with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Monday and after 11 a.m. Tuesday.
