Kenneth Cotner Obituary

NEW ALBANY - COTNER, KENNETH "KENNY" ALLEN , 67, went to join his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born February 10, 1943 in Elizabeth, IN to the late Frank and Opal Cotner, the third of eight children. Kenny was a longtime parts manager of Ford dealerships and retired part manager for Metropolitan Lincoln Mercury of Louisville. He was an avid golfer who loved the game, but his biggest love was for his family and their well being.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Robert Ray Cotner and William Cotner. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Anna Florence (Brear) Cotner, who will forever miss her best friend; two sons, Billy Dean Cotner (Anne), of Milltown, IN and Bruce Allen Cotner (Nell), of Millington, TN; two sisters, Lana Brear (Larry) of Greenville, IN and Lucia Flick (Rick) of Lancaster, KY; three brothers, Murrell Cotner (Jenny) and Darryl Cotner (Patty), of New Albany, and James Cotner (Joy), of Jeffersonville, IN; eight grandchildren, Candace Magruder, Doug Magruder, Stephany Cotner, Allen Cotner, Laura Cotner, Nick Cotner, Cody Cotner and Summer Cotner; two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Bonnie Cotner, of Florida; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from noon-8 p.m. Friday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany. His funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Kraft Chapel with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.

The family asks that memory gifts be in memory of Kenny to Hosparus of Southern Indiana, 624 E. Market St., New Albany, IN 47150 or Park Christian Church, 2231 Green Valley Road, New Albany, IN 47150

Sorry we could not attend the showing of our lost friend. Mom (Rose Bickel is a little under the weather this week, just allergies not anything serious. Just wanted to let you know that we are thinking of you and all of the fond memories spent with Kenny. I will never forget going to Craig Ford and hangin with Dad and Kenny when I was a kid
Kenny always made it fun. We will miss him alot.
