DURHAM, LESLIE L., 90, passed away January 1, 2012 at Baptist East Hospital.

Born in Louisville, KY, on March 28, 1922 to the late Winfred and Nora Wade Durham. Leslie served our country in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a Radio Operator on a plane that dropped troops during D Day. During his service he received both the Bronze Star and the Oak Leaf Cluster. He spent his professional career working over 40 years at Fawcett Printing Company and was a former President of the Purchasing Association of Louisville (PAL). Also, Leslie was a Sales Representative at Gatchells for 20 years, and a Mason.
Leslie was a member of Midland Trail Golf Club. He actively played golf until just a few months ago. Leslie's love of golf surpassed anything else in his life, except his family.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lester Durham; and siblings, Margaret Childress, Edward Durham, and Earl Gus Durham and Alma Gupton.
Left to carry on his memory are children, Karen Bodart and Myra Sastre (John); grandchildren, Jessica Johnston (Jason) and Darren Bodart (Anna); along with great-grandchildren, Isabelle Bodart, Mallory Johnston and Joanna Bodart.
The family would like to give a special thanks to 4th floor Tower Palliative Care Nurses and the 5th floor Tower Nurses at Baptist East, Dr. John Jurige for getting him to 90, and the many family and friends who visited him during his illness.

A service celebrating the life of Leslie will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday. Entombment will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.
