SEGER, MARY ELIZABETH, 79, of Crestwood, KY, passed away Monday, July 15, 2013 at Baptist Hospital Northeast.
She was born in Portland, OR. Marybeth graduated from the University of Portland with a B.S. in Nursing. She worked in hospitals in Portland OR and Honolulu HI.
Marybeth and her husband, Bob met and married in Honolulu. They moved to Manila Philippines where Marybeth served as a staff nurse for the Peace Corps and Bob was employed by the FAA. Then Bob's job moved them to Japan for two years. Marybeth studied flower arranging and bonsai while in Japan. They returned to Hawaii for 11 years followed by Washington D.C. for eight years. Bob accepted a position with the FAA in Louisville in 1987 and they moved to Crestwood.
Marybeth was an active member of the Crestwood Civic Club. She enjoyed gardening, reading books, and caring for her children and grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William J. and Mary M. Madigan.
Marybeth is survived by her loving husband, Robert E. Seger; daughters, Malia Payton, Rachelle Seger, and Michele Kitko; and two grandsons, Derek Payton and Jake Reilly.
Marybeth and Bob would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 20, 2013.
