Michael William Kelly

KELLY, MICHAEL WILLIAM, of Myersville, MD passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2010 following a seizure at his home.

He was born October 29, 1945 in Louisville, the son of Mary Arvin Kelly of Kansas City, KS and the late Benjamin Kelly.

Michael was a 1964 graduate of Saint Xavier High School in Louisville and a 1968 graduate of Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. He served honorably as a naval officer aboard the USS Andrew Jackson from 1968 - 1972. Michael worked for 37 years for Electronic Data Systems and had recently retired. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed the outdoors and spending time at his vacation home in Oak Island, NC. He will be dearly missed.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara; two daughters, Elizabeth Lynn Gupton and her husband Robbie, of Raleigh, NC and Courtney Marie Kelly, of Brooklyn, NY; two granddaughters, Madeline Kate and Lindy Michael Gupton, both of Raleigh; one brother, Patrick Kelly, of Louisville; and two sisters Katy Call and Dawn Kelly, both of Kansas City, KS.

Michael will be remembered at a memorial service at St. James Catholic Church in Boonsboro, MD later this year.
