ABANG, RAUL S. M.D., 72, of Louisville died suddenly of natural causes on Monday, May 17,2010 at his home.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was also a hard-working and dedicated physician. He was a very prayerful Christian and devout in his Catholic faith. He was a parishioner of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Louisville where he attended mass regularly.
Dr. Abang was a graduate of Manila Central University in the Philippines. He received his training in anesthesiology at the University of Kentucky and practiced medicine at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown for 17 years. He retired from the practice of medicine in 1995 for health related reasons. He has spent his retirement years enjoying time with his loving family and friends.
He has survived by his loving wife, Aurora L. Abang MD, and his three children, Ana Rowena Overley, MD and her husband David Overley, MD, Eric Abang, DMD and his wife Shannon, Anthony Abang, MD and his wife Leah, and his seven grandchildren, Alexander, Christina, Elizabeth, Harrison, Holden, Greer and Bryce; and his sister, Marietta Roldan of the Philippines and his sister-in-law, Nonie Lerma.
Visitation will be at Bosse Funeral Home, 1355 Ellison Ave. at Barett Avenue on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 from 5-9 p.m.; Thursday from 1-5 and 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martin of Tours Church Friday at noon. He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
The family asks in the place of flowers, that all memorial gifts be sent to St. Martin of Tours Church in Louisville.
