ANDREW, SHAWN MICHAEL, 48, of Louisville, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 22, 2014.

Shawn was born on April 25, 1965 in Madison, IN, and raised in Bedford, KY. He is the son of Barry and Margaret Andrew and Sue and Lewis Barnes, all of Bedford. He has been a resident of Louisville for 17 years.

Shawn graduated from Trimble County High School in 1983, where he played football, basketball, and baseball. Following high school he attended Lindsey Wilson College, where he played basketball and baseball. He later graduated from the University of Louisville with a degree in Sports Administration. Shawn owned Eclipse Sports Accessories. He previously worked as a chemical operator for Dow Corning and in the mortgage industry, most recently for Metlife.

Shawn was an avid UK Wildcats fan, a Cincinnati Reds fan, and a Trinity High School fan. He loved sports and especially loved coaching children. He spent many years coaching baseball for the Lyndon Lightning team. He also coached his son in multiple other sports, including football, basketball, and even soccer. He thought the sun and moon rose with his son, and they shared a very close bond. He made friends easily, he smiled often, and his face lit up when he talked with children. Shawn was preceded in death by his grandparents, Buford and Lorene Dunlap and Fred Andrew; his father-in-law, Michael Greenleaf Sr.; his uncle, Larry Dunlap; and his cousin, Jeff Whittaker.

A loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle, Shawn Michael Andrew is survived by his wife of 16 years, Suzanne Greenleaf Andrew; his 14 year old son and light of his life, Seth Michael Andrew; his mother and stepfather, Sue and Lewis Barnes; his father and stepmother, Barry and Margaret Andrew; his sisters, Shannon Stidham and Brittany Barnes (Jay Hinson); his grandmother, Jean Andrew and his aunts, Diane Simpson (Mike), Pam Harris (Jamie), Deandrea Joslin, Debbie Andrew, and Tammy Andrew (Keith); uncles, Mark Dunlap (Marsha) and Rick Andrew (Kathy), mother-in-law, Connie Greenleaf; brothers-in-law, Michael Greenleaf, Jr., (Angie), and Steven Greenleaf (Yancy Holbrook); nephews, Brye Welty and Hayes Hinson; and nieces, Abigail and Kennedy Stidham, Harper and Hadley Hinson, and Katie Greenleaf. He is also survived by many cousins, close friends, and his canine companions, Mojo and Penny.
