I just heard about Pat's passing through a friend and client of Pat's. I knew Pat back in mid 80's as a compatriate of the credit union industry. After I moved to Hawaii, I lost touch as so often happens across many miles. I read Laurie's blog about the Bailey's and coffee and instantly remembered how we also would add clove cigarettes to the mix for "inspiration" through the many hours. We should all live life so fully

Pat was one of my favorite clients. She absolutely delighted me. I got to read and edit some of her writing and it was pure pleasure. I was honored to know her. I learned from her. She was a shining example of joy and wisdom. It appears she has touched many, many people.

My prayers are with all of Pat's family. I was lucky enough to have been introduced to her through my aunt and had many fun nights laughing, knitting, talking and drinking bottles of wine. She will be missed here in California and in my life. I will always remember her wit, charm and amazing story telling.

I wanted to send my most sincere condolences to Pat's family. I was priviledged to have made her acquaintance thru my very good friend, Jo Ann and absolutely loved her energy & her passion for life. She was a beautiful person inside & out.

I know she will be very missed on this earth, but I'm certain she's moved on to a much better place now.

This will be my second attempt to comment on Laurie's best friend, my e-mail and telepnone friend and the one I was privileged to spend some wonderful time with. There are no words to descripe Pat. Like Laurie said,a life sprinkled with sparkle and fairy dust. She was fun to be with as well as being a brilliant writer. She peddled joy wherever she went. At the clinic where Pat received her dose of poison, she was heard to say, "You have the BEST coffee of anyplace I have been." I am so glad I knew her and the world is a brighter place because of her. As Laurie's mother I am here to help you get through, "The worst of times." I love you, Pat, now and always. Thanks to my sister, Laurie, I was friends with Pat via mail and telephone for years before we met face to face. What a treasure.

I'm so grateful that I have pieces of her beautiful beaded jewelry so that any time, I can just wrap a part of her creativity around my neck.

The angels have a beautiful and delightful new addition. Her sparkle will shine down with beautiful light to warm our hearts forever.

Adieu, Pat. Je t'aime.

During my Senior year of high school, I learned I had another aunt. Not just any ol' aunt, but a COOL aunt! A writer and an artist, who lived in Los Angeles! So, being an aspiring writer, aspiring artist and aspiring Californian, I devised a plan to invite myself to California and got to know my FABU Aunt Pat.
She changed my life! I had no idea moving to California to become a writer was even a possibility for me. And it never would have been, if I hadn't known my Aunt Pat. Auntie, you made the life I love so much possible! I'll forever be grateful. I love you!
