DICKERSON, EVERETT A. "HOP," 88, went to be with his heavenly Father on April 7, 2013.

Hop was a World War II Navy veteran. After 30 years of service he retired from Durkee's Famous Foods and had been a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where he was a retired deacon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Rosie Dickerson; and sister, Hazel Douthitt.

Hop left behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 67 years, Louise; children, Michael Dickerson, Melinda "Micki" Garrett (Bob) and Mark Dickerson; grandchildren, Kevin Garrett (Kathy), Parker Dickerson and Kristin Dickerson; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Haley and Joshua; and sister, Lucille Rose.

A service honoring the life of Hop will be held Thursday at noon at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy can be made to Fellowship Meal Ministry Bethlehem Baptist Church.
