MOCKUS, STEPHEN C., 56, of Philadelphia, passed away in Crestwood, KY on February 1, 2014.

Stephen was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 9, 1957. He was the son of Yolanda Mockus and the late Frank Mockus. He was the twin brother of David Mockus (Evelyn).
Stephen C. Mockus is survived by his wife for 40 years, Anne Marie Mockus; and his four adult children, Stephen C. Mockus Jr., (Mary Fran), Andrea Mockus, Lisa Mockus and Kevin Mockus. Stephen was a proud Pop Pop of Christopher Stephen Mockus.
Stephen worked for UPS: United Parcel Service for 39 years. Steve started working for UPS as a package handler in 1976. Steve took advantage of every promotion offered to him. Steve was promoted in 1982 to a supervisor and two years later to a manager. Steve was the Division Manager in the Philadelphia Air Hub in 1992. In 1997, Steve was relocated to the North Illinois District and was soon promoted to the Air Manager in the Northeast Region. In 2005, Steve was relocated to Louisville where he held numerous positions. Steve was the Vice President of Louisville Air and Freight Operations, and later accepted the Vice President of Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering position.
Aside from being a dedicated father, husband, Pop Pop and worker, Steve was a strong advocate for empowering families through education. Steve gave back to his community by being on the board of the Family Scholar House in Louisville. Steve also served as president on the Oldham County Citizen Police Academy, Louisville Free Library Foundation and just recently graduated form the Louisville FBI Citizens Academy.
A viewing prayer service will be held on February 7, 2014 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in LaGrange, KY from 4-8 p.m. for all his UPS family, friends and neighbors. A Funeral Mass will be conducted in Philadelphia next week.
