GRAVEN, WILLIAM L. SR., 85, of Louisville, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Nazareth Home.

He was a retired machine operator for Philip Morris Company, and after retiring from Philip Morris, Bill worked for 14 years at the Jefferson County Clerks Office. He was also a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, had attended St. Benedict grade school and was a 1946 graduate of St. Xavier High School.
Preceding him in death was his wife of 64 years, Dolores Quinlan Graven; son, Daniel Graven; brother, Paul Graven; and sisters, Mary Thornbury, Margie Kraher and Doris Noe.
Remaining to cherish his memory are his children, Dr. William L. Graven, Jr. (Connie), Donna Fitchett (Reid) and Dr. Linda Korfhage (Mike); daughter-in-law, Jennifer Graven; brothers, Clyde Graven (Maura) and Robert Graven (Mary B.); as well as eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to Dr. Jane Cornett and the caring staff of Nazareth Home for the love and care shown William during his stay with them.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 1925 Lewiston Drive, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 - 8 p.m. Friday at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road.
