FORBES, JEAN, passed away at home Thursday, February 20, 2014 after a brief illness at the age of 90.
Born in Ontario, Canada, Jean was one of 10 children born to the late Edward and Emma Threndyle.
Upon her retirement from Dick Newton's State Farm Insurance office, she earned a degree in biology from U of L. Jean was an avid golfer both at Wildwood and Woodhaven Country Clubs. She also made many friendships through her association with NAMI and the local chapter.
Preceding her in death besides her parents were her husband, Norman A. Forbes and five brothers, Donald, Wallace, Bruce, Cameron and Keith Threndyle.
Survivors include her four sisters, Ruth, Melba, Joyce and Grace; children, Dorothy Stiltner and Kevin Forbes; two grandchildren, Maria Allison (Peter) and Michael Stiltner (Stacey); two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Kayla and a great-great-granddaughter Mia.
Private services will be held for the family followed by burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. A memorial service will be held in the summer on Lake Huron. Ratterman and Sons, Bardstown Road, is caring for the family.
