FRONING, DR. JOHN LEO, DMD, 77 of Pewee Valley Ky, passed away peacefully Sunday at Jewish Hospital, with his family by his side. He was born in Minster, OH to the late Sylvester and Florence Rutschilling Froning. Dr. Froning practiced Dental Medicine at his private practice in Crestwood Ky, was a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and while at U of L, he was a member of the basketball team from 1954-1958, and was a very proud member of their National Championship team in 1956. He served as a Captain in the Air Force at Langley AFB, VA. He was a loving and kind husband, father and Gramps who enjoyed family time, playing sports, reading, gardening, creating art and cheering on the Cards. He was loved and greatly admired by his sons-in-law and many dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his sister Martha Shacter and brother-in-law Buddy Quesenberry and niece Lisa Quesenberry.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Quesenberry Froning and daughters Anne J. Froning (Sean Murphy), Mary Hagerman (Gregg), Nancy White (Bill), Sally Riley (Mike) and grandchildren Kate (Andrew), Hannah, Nicholas, Matthew, Clare, Porter, Eleanor, Ben, Grace, Leo and great-granddaughter Allyson; a brother Jim Froning (Nell), sister Mary O'Meara (Tom), in- laws Jack Shacter, John and Lucy Quesenberry, Mary Ann Quesenberry and many nieces and nephews.

Please join us for a celebration of his life to be held at a later date. We would like to thank all the nurses and doctors at Jewish Hospital who cared for him so compassionately.
