Robert O. Grubbs Obituary
GRUBBS, ROBERT O., 85, of Bethlehem, PA, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospice House. He was born in Lexington, KY to the late William J. and Marie C. Grubbs. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1946 - 1948.

In 1948, he married Jean. Bob graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1951 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was a member of Tau Beta Pi, engineering honor society.

Upon graduation, he worked for a short time in Texas. He returned to Kentucky where he worked at Hazelet and Erdal Consulting Engineers in Louisville for 41 years, where his main focus was designing bridges and highways. At the time of his retirement in 1993, he held the position of Vice President. Bob was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the Kentucky Association of Professional Engineers. He also served on the Board of the Altenheim. He was a long time active member of Bethel St. Paul UCC and recently, a member of St. Andrew UCC, both of Louisville. Bob enjoyed woodworking, travelling, and golf and was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jean Weisert Grubbs; his daughter, Karen G. Lazar (Jeffrey); grandchildren, Kevin Robert Lazar and Kalyn Elizabeth Lazar, of Bethlehem, PA; and his brother, William Grubbs (Carol) of South Carolina.

Funeral Service on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Pearson's 149 Breckenridge Lane with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014.
