BRYANT, OMA "SUG," 84, passed away peacefully at Oaklawn Health and Rehabilitation facility surrounded by her loved ones on March 8, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert V. Bryant; and dear friend, Charles Klapheke.
She was born on September 6, 1929, the daughter of the late Orby and Omie "Dutch" McDaniel. She was Nani to her three grandchildren and to those closest to her, she was known as and will be remembered as Sug because she was "sweet as sugar". She will be remembered for her big hugs, a smile that could light up a room, and an amazing sense of humor. Most importantly, she leaves a legacy of unwavering faith in Jesus, a heart that loved deeply, and a joyful spirit.
She was the cofounder of Standard Die Supply of Ky Inc. She also was a volunteer at Jewish Hospital for several years.
She will be greatly missed by her son, Chuck Bryant (Cheryl); her three grandchildren, Amy, Emily, and Corey; and by many beloved family and friends.
Her funeral will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd., with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Highlands Funeral Home.
