BRIDWELL, BONNIE STAPLES, 88, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Westport Place.

She was born July 18, 1925 in Henderson County, KY, the daughter of the late Thomas Staples and Lila Griffin Staples. She was a lifelong homemaker, loving mother and fun-loving grandmother. She made the best pies and sewed beautiful dresses for her three daughters. She quilted by hand, played piano by ear and meticulously scrap-booked the ups and downs of her grandchildren's lives.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, William C. Bridwell; and her sister, Stella Lehr.

Bonnie is survived by her three daughters, Deborah A. Bridwell (Mark McKinstry), Brenda L. Frye (Gary) and Joanne Edwards (David); three grandchildren, Matthew Bloom (Nora), Dana Wagner (Drew) and Lee McKinstry; five great-grandchildren, Will, Nathan, Luke and Harrison Wagner and Owen Bloom; and her brother, Sherman Staples (Carolyn).

Bonnie was full of grace and love, and was a member of Woodland Baptist Church.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the exceptional care that was given by the Homecare, Inpatient and Nursing Home teams of Hosparus.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the funeral home with entombment to follow in Resthaven Mausoleum.
