OWENSBORO - Taylor, Norma Scherer, 83, died Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Hermitage Care in Owensboro.

She was born October 28, 1930 in Owensboro to the late Edwyn Robert and Ida Mae Scherer. She had been employed by WVJS, and as a teacher's aide for the Owensboro Public School System, and volunteered at the Help Office. She was a member of Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church and of the Homemakers Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronda G. "Bud" Taylor on February 22, 1985.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and John Meyer of Louisville; a grandson, Matthew Taylor Meyer of Louisville; a stepgranddaughter, Brittany Meyer Tackett and her husband, Tyler of Hazard, KY; and a friend Louis Morton of Owensboro.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2014, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and after 10 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. A meal for family and friends will be served at Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church following the service. Private burial will be in Serenity Hills Cemetery in Hawesville, KY.
