Nellie Naiser Jacobs

Obituary Condolences

JACOBS, NELLIE NAISER, 96, of Louisville, fell asleep in the Lord at Nazareth Home on Tuesday April 1, 2014.

Nellie was born on November 10, 1917, to the late William and Nasta Naiser, in Hamat, Lebanon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Jacobs; her son, Stephen Edwin Jacobs; and her brothers Jack, George, Morris and Dave Naiser.

She is survived by her sons Jack (Judi) and Mark (Anastasia); her five grandsons Jack Paul "Gus," Hunter (Nicole), Stephen (Amanda), Tanner and John, all of Louisville; and four great-grandchildren, Nina, Jake, Penelope and Nellie. She is also survived by a sister, Jeannette Strahl and a brother, Lindy Naiser, both of Louisville; several nieces and nephews, and many cousins.

Nellie was a lifelong member of St. Michael the Archangel Antiochian Orthodox Church. Although she leaves behind many loved ones, they will remember Nellie for her love of her family and perfume. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at the Nazareth Home for their loving care for Nellie over these last two and a half years.

Visitation will be at St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church, at the corner of Furman Boulevard and Hikes Lane, on Friday, April 4, 2014, from 1 to 5:30 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 7 p.m. There will be a brief memorial service Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church, followed by the internment at Resthaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Nellie's memory to St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church. Ratterman and Sons on Bardstown Road is serving the family.
