BOWMER, JOSEPHINE H., 66, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014.

She retired from General Electric after more than 30 years of service.

Survivors: her son, Alphonso Thompson Jr. (Karri), daughter, Sharhonda Thompson (Deidra); sister-in-law, Ernestine Williams; siblings, Cornelia (James) Geeston, Earlene Haymon, Wilma (Theodore) O'Bannon, Patricia Jones, Betty Dozier, Brenda Haymon, Deborah (Amadou) Toure, Famus Lee Haymon, Theodore Haymon, Allen (Connie) Haymon, and Derwin (Jackie) Haymon; aunt, Bonnie (Emmanuel) Dozier; stepchildren: Sharon Mattingly, Darryl (Jasmine) Bowmer, and Theresa (Marion) Stone; 15 stepgrandchildren; 20 stepgreat-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

Visitation: 6-9 p.m. Monday at New Zion Baptist Church, 1501 Rev. Louis Coleman Jr., Drive. Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, followed by interment in Green Meadows Cemetery. Professional services by Rodgers-Awkard & Lyons, 951 S. Preston St.
