HOPKINS, GEORGE E., 76, of Louisville, was born June 29, 1937 to the late George Walter and Marie Tandy Hopkins and returned to his Heavenly Father April 11, 2014.

Mr. Hopkins, known as W4WPI, was a life member of American Radio Relay League, retired from both the L&N Railroad and industrial sales. Also an avid U of L Fan.

He leaves to cherish his memory his fiancée, Sharon Byrns; daughters, Helen Montesinos (Dennis), Elaine Makris, Jeannette Hopkins (Andre) and Sheila Stukenborg (George); son Ed Hopkins; brother, Walt Hopkins (Kathye); 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, a host of other family and friends.

Memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks (Preston Highway at Brooks Road). Friends may pay their respects from 1-7 p.m. Thursday at Schoppenhorst.
