MINTON, MELVER CARVIN JR., 79, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Baptist Health.

Born in Windsor, NC, he was a retired maintenance manager for MSD and was an Army National Guard veteran during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Horn Minton.

He is survived by his children Melver C. Minton III (Jane), Lee Minton and Kim Deetsch; a sister, Sue White; grandchildren, Joshua, Erik, Joseph, Emily, Leah, Lainie and Ethan; and great-grandchildren Jonas and Darcy Ruth.

His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown 9318 Taylorsville Road. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Friday from 2-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

He is gone fishing.
