SPRINGFIELD - Kelty, Charles Irvin "Charlie," 77, of Louisville, KY, died on Monday, April 28, 2014 at 10:45 p.m., at his home.

Charlie was born May 27, 1937. He was raised in the small community of Manton, KY, and was the youngest of seven children. He moved to Louisville as a young man and started his career at the Steele Mill, where after 45+ years of service he retired. He was a member of AA for 40+ years and just recently received his 40th year token.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Neomi Graves Kelty; twin brothers, Hermon and Herbert Kelty; and a sister, Mary Thomas.
Survivors include two sisters, Virgie Mattingly, Lebanon, KY and Martha Selby, Danville, KY; and a brother, John Warren Kelty, Louisville, KY. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. A long-time friend, Carol Bell and his very special neighbors Pat and John Featherstone.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. Visitations will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014 at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Friday evening by Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
