DEIBEL, ROBERT "BOB," HENRY JR., 74, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014 at home.

He is an owner of Robert H. Deibel Greenhouses.

Robert was born in Louisville, KY, to the late Robert H. Deibel Sr. and the living Mary Catherine Klump Deibel. He graduated from St. Francis of Assisi Catholic grade school and graduated from Trinity High School in 1957 as a proud member of the First graduating class. He is very proud of his Catholic education.

Bob was very active in his parish, St. Aloysius in Pewee Valley. He served on Parish Council, Administration Committee, was a Eucharistic Minister, lector, member of the choir, called bingo from the start to the finish, and was a chairperson for the summer picnic for more than 15 years.

Bob was also very active in Oldham County and the City of Crestwood. He is a Charter member for the City of Crestwood Board of Trustees and serves as the Treasurer. He was a volunteer fire fighter for the South Oldham Fire Department for more than 55 years, was Chief 16 of those years, and is the Secretary of the Fire Department Board. He was the founding Chairman of Oldham County Ambulance District, member of the Oldham County Board of Adjustments & Appeals, on the Advisory Board to the Louisville Water Company, and member of the South Oldham Lions Club. Most recently, he was an elected Oldham County Fiscal Court Magistrate for 21 years. He is also a Kentucky National Guard Veteran.

Robert is survived by his wife, Brenda Greenwell Deibel of 48 years; and his daughter, Mary Mitchell (Don); and son, Robert H. Deibel III (Sondra). He has seven grandchildren, Brook and Nathan Deibel; Emily, Stephen, Don III, Jack, and Lincoln Mitchell. He is also survived by his brothers, Dennis (Sara), Allen (Sharon) and sister-in-law, Linda Deibel.

Funeral Mass will be at St. Aloysius Church in Pewee Valley on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 10 a.m. with burial at St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visitation will be at Stoess Funeral Home in Crestwood on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 2-7 p.m.
