NOLAND, J. HAROLD, 90, of Louisville passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Maude Noland, and a brother, Dr. Leon Noland.

Harold served in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer in France and Germany during World War II, from 1943 to 1946. He was employed with the Commonwealth Life Insurance Company for 31 years where he was a dedicated and valued employee. While employed there, he earned his C.L.U. degree. He was an avid and talented golfer who competed in many state tournaments throughout his lifetime. He graduated from the University of Kentucky, where he also attended graduate school.

Harold is survived by his wife of 72 years, Barbara; four children, Debbie Noland (Paul), Kevin Noland, Mark Noland (Debbie) and Harold Noland; his sister-in-law, Margie Garrett; his daughter-in-law Dr. Melody Noland; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a sister, Aleen Strong (Guy) of Winchester, KY; and a brother, Paul Noland (Billie) of Albuquerque, NM.

Funeral services will be held at Harvey Browne Presbyterian Church, 311 Browns Lane, Wednesday May 21, 2014 at 1p.m. A visitation will be held on Tuesday May 20, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at Pearson Funeral Home, 149 Breckenridge Lane, Louisville.
