BARBER, RUSS, 90, of Louisville, unexpectedly and peacefully departed this life on June 10, 2014.

Russ was born in Ashland, KY on September 19, 1923, and was the only child to the late Leonard and Alma Kiel Barber.

Russ graduated from Ashland Senior High School, and attended Centre College in Danville, KY. He was a World War II veteran of the US Army and served during the European theater conflicts.

Russ leaves behind his loving and supportive wife of 25 years Bonnie Barber .

He is also survived by his four sons and families, Jack R. and Rebecca (Salyer) Barber of Carmel, IN, Jeffrey T. and Elizabeth (Wade) Barber of Raleigh, NC, Jerry M. and Beth (Roberson) Barber of Lake Worth, FL, and Joey J. and Jenny (Fritz) Barber of Franklin, TN. Russ had nine grandchildren, Jason, Jesse, Cottie (Barber) Williams, Drew, Katy, Chelsey, Jordan, Jacob, and Rachel Barber; one great-granddaughter, Addisyn Brooke Barber and one great-grandson. James Steele Williams.

There will be no visitation or services, and private burial is planned at a future date. Pearson Funeral Home in Louisville is in charge of arrangements.
