George W. Wagner Obituary
WAGNER, GEORGE W., 102, passed away on June 9, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his wonderful wife of 40 years, Elizabeth Owens. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps, serving in Africa, Sicily, Italy, France and Germany.

George was an ardent golfer and bowler; a member of Seneca Golf Club for 50 years. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 201, where he served as co-chairman of the golf league, a member of the Last Rites Committee and worked a number of years on the charity carnival and bingo games.

He was a member of the Royal Order of the Moose No. 5 and participated in the horseshoe and dart leagues. He attended many dances in the ballroom lounge.

He was a Third Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 4473, a Catholic and a member of St. Martha Church.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Bourke Cameron; his brother-in-law, Gordon Cameron; a very special friend, June Testa; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014, with a Prayer Service at 4 p.m. at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road. The funeral Mass will be conducted at St. Martha Church, 2825 Klondike Lane on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 10 a.m. Burial is to follow at St. Louis Cemetery.

The family would like to give many thanks to all of his caregivers and support staff at Seneca Place! Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Special Olympics of Kentucky.
