GERHART, MARGARET HOGE, 59, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2014, surrounded by family and friends.

Margaret was born and raised in Anchorage, KY, Margaret's passion was being a director of Animal Care Society. In addition, she was a director of Colonial Dames, a director of Anchorage PTO-orchestrating "Christmas in Anchorage," a director of Anchorage Civic Club-supervising "Anchorfest." An avid golfer and boater, she was a member of Owl Creek Country Club and Rose Island Yacht Club.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Anchorage Mayor Peyton Harrison Hoge III and Elizabeth Harris Hoge.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Robert Willis Gerhart Jr.; daughters Elizabeth G. Thompson (Michael), and Virginia B. Gerhart; beloved granddaughter Margaret Statham; grandsons Hayden Thompson, Lucas Thompson, Jacob Singer and Nathan Singer; brothers Peyton Hoge IV (Terri) and George Hoge (Dee); and sisters Elizabeth Hageman (Rick), and Blanche Pedigo (Joe); along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service is 2 p.m. Friday at Anchorage Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in Floydsburg Cemetery. A Celebration of her life will began at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Owl Creek Country Club. Visitation: 4-7 pm Thursday at Pearson's 149 Breckenridge Lane.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Healing Place or the Animal Care Society.
