THOBEN, AGNES DALTON, 88, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2014 with Henry, her husband of 56 years, by her side.

Agnes was born to Neil and Lydia Dalton in Louisville on September 18, 1925, and attended Loretta High School. She earned her Bachelor's and Master of Social Work from Kent School, University of Louisville, then worked for the Southern Indiana Children's Rehabilitation Center and the Louisville Twin Study. She was a member of Sigma Kappa, Louisville Women's Club, DAR and Holy Spirit Choir. Agnes was a homemaker and bridge player. Devoted to family, she especially enjoyed time with grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She taught her children to honor the dignity of every person. We will miss her humor, smile and gentle touch.

The family thanks the Episcopal Church Home staff and Hosparus of Louisville for their compassionate care.

Agnes is preceded in death by her parents, Neil and Lydia Dalton. Survivors include husband, Henry, daughter Kathleen Hall (Bart), son Hank (Julie) and their children Ian Xavier, Maria Catherine and Litzi Anaya; her sister Betty Baumann (Donald) and sister-in-law Freda Chancellor; 10 nieces and nephews and 18 great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2014 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3345 Lexington Road, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 4-7 pm at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road in St. Matthews.

In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family suggests a donation to the Little Sisters of the Poor, Sisters of Loretta, Kentuckiana Alzheimer's Association or Episcopal Church Home.
