KLEINHENZ, ALEXANDER E. "JUNIE," 92, of Louisville, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014.

He was born on August 17, 1921 in Louisville, the son of the late Alexander E. Kleinhenz, Sr. and Annie Marie Katzenburger Kleinhenz. Junie was a long time member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church and was employed by Kayrouz Heating and Air Conditioning for over 40 years until his retirement.

He was a graduate of Male High School, where he was inducted into the Football Hall of Fame and was a World War II veteran having served in the Marines. He played football for the Marine Corps and was offered to play in a professional league after the war. The family loved hearing Junie's stories of the days he played with "Crazy Legs Hirsch." Junie was a kind, loving and gentle man who will be remembered fondly and missed dearly by all.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Lily Rita Kayrouz Kleinhenz; and was a father figure to many loving godchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family and many friends.

A special thank you is to be given to his family caregivers, godchildren, Philip, Pam and Bob Kayrouz, Charlotte Korfhage and Terecia Helm.

Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July, 1, 2014 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 1395 Girard Dr., with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville.
