BYRON, EUGENE A. "GENE" "HANK," 83, of Louisville, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014 at Baptist Healthcare Louisville.
He was born June 11, 1931 in Louisville, the son of the late William and Margaret Byron. Gene was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and was re-toucher for Standard Gravure Newspaper for many years until his retirement in 1987.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Edrington Byron; two brothers, Bill and Bob Byron and a sister, Lou Lutz.
Gene is survived by his two children, Joan Merrick (Norman) and Tony Byron (Mary); three grandchildren, Liz McGill (Jeremy), Bobby Byron and Tori Merrick; sister, Margie Byron Martin; sisters-in-law, LaVerne Byron, Sue Hellemueller (Walter) and Mary Cunningham (Elmer); brothers-in-law, Jim Edrington (Joanne) and Coleman Edrington (Nadine) and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 508 Cherrywood Road. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 p.m. Friday at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, "In St. Matthews."
