ARNOLD, ROSALIND NELSON "PUNKY," passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014.

She was a retired co-owner of Arnold and Associates Insurance; a mother, business entrepreneur, and homemaker. Punky was a cheerleader at Murray State University, a former Miss Kentucky in 1963 and was voted Miss Congeniality at the Miss U.S.A. pageant, and did volunteer work for Meals on Wheels, the Healing Place and Norton Hospital Brownsboro.

She is preceded in death by her parents, A.A. "Pont" and Grace (Lovett) Nelson; and a nephew, Richard Clay Jones.

She is survived by her children, Scott Toombs (Polly) and Amy Hendershot (Todd); sisters, Phyllis "Phyl" Sarber and Charlotte "Skeet" Jones; her ex-husband and close friend, Bob Arnold; the father of her children, Tommy Toombs; grandchildren, Bailey and Regan Hendershot, and Charles B. Banks (Jamie); her great grandchildren, Brooklynn and Charleigh Banks, and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a private memorial service at Christ Church United Methodist followed by a celebration of her life for her friends and loved ones from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 8 at Big Springs Country Club, 5901 Dutchmans Lane, Louisville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Fund, (Attn: Carolyn Thomas, Paymaster 1207, 1394 Liliac Ave, Chula Vista, CA. 91911) or to Hosparus of Louisville.

Rattermans Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road "in St. Matthews" have been entrusted with arrangements.
