HILDENBRAND, ANTHONY E., JR. "TONY," 73, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2014.

He was born on March 11, 1941 to Anthony Sr. and Cora Hildenbrand, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his mother and father-in-law, Ruth and George Lanning and his son-in-law, David Andrews.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Lanning Hildenbrand; their children, Lori Andrews (Don Prewitt), Marc Hildenbrand (Yolanda) and Erik Hildenbrand (Melissa Ferguson); grandchildren, James Head, Trenton Hildenbrand and Lauryn Hildenbrand; his sister, Linda Walker (Harry) of Bluffton, SC; his brother, Ron Hildenbrand; the Michigan family: stepgrandchildren, Deanna Fallitech (Scott), Leslie Kohler (Kevin); two stepgreat-grandchildren, Kira and Aiden; many sisters and brothers-in-law who considered him their brother; several nieces, nephews, cousins; the Friday-night Dive Bunch and 31 Card Club friends.

Tony was a graduate (Class of '59) of St. Xavier High School and Bellarmine College. He played baseball and basketball for both schools. Tony remained active at St. X as a member of the Booster Club and for many years worked the stats crew for Bellarmine Basketball.

As a longtime member of St. Athanasius parish, he coached baseball, softball and both girls and boys basketball. Over the years, he was active in Parish Council, ballfield, Stewardship and other parish activities.

After 18 years of service, Tony retired in 2006 from Sysco Foods and for the past eight years worked with Lori and Erik at BMS LLC.

Tony had many friends as shown by the support over the past week. The family would like to thank everyone for being there, especially the staff of Baptist East Palliative Care unit who took such compassionate care of him, Dr. Lawrence Rueff and the doctors from CBC.

The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at St. Athanasius Church, 5915 Outer Loop with burial following at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road.
