Correro, Mattie D.,

88, of Louisville, passed away July 14, 2014 surrounded by family.

She was born December 7, 1925, in Inverness, MS, to the late Steve and Nora Herring. She was employed by GE for 32 years, a member of the KY Singles Square Dance Club and Moose Club. She was very active in Senior Citizens Meal on Wheels and a member of Buechel United Methodist Church on Hikes Lane.

She is survived by her two daughters, Terri Sentner (Bob) and Joyce Stevens (Bill); five grandchildren, Joyce, Shelia, Shirley, Jimmy and Teresa; and several great-grandchildren; a sister, Julie Hess; and a brother, George Herring.

A Celebration of Mattie's life will be conducted Friday, July 18, 2014 at 10 a.m. in Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
