White, Betty Ann,

66, of Crestwood, KY, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on April 17,1948 in Kenvir, KY, to the late Charlene Hughes and Anthony Edgar White. Betty spent most of her childhood in Harlan, Kentucky known to her family fondly as Black Mountain. Her family later relocated to Louisville, settling in the Portland area.

Betty was a member of the 1966 graduating class of Shawnee High School. Following her graduation she attended Murray State University where she earned her Master's in Psychology. She also received degrees in Special Education, Consulting and Counseling from the University of Louisville. Betty taught special education for DuPont Manual High School before going into administration for the Jefferson County Board of Education; where she specialized as a school psychologist, she retired in 2006. Betty attended church at Southeast Christian.

Betty was a beautiful person with a big heart and an undying love for her family and friends. She impacted the lives of so many with her love and kindness. She always chose to see the best in others and every situation. She was truly one of a kind. She will be missed terribly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlene Hughes White and Anthony Edgar White; brothers, Anthony Junior White, Jimmy R. White, Danny E .White; and great-niece, Audrey E. White.

Those left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Donna G. Bonham (Ronnie); Michael T. White (Lisa); cousin, Rossie Hughes (Wanda); nieces, Kimberlee Ann Carley (Bruce), Erin White, Jocelyn Fedyk (Nick), Amanda Lee Bonham- Summers (Bradley), Amee Christina Dotson; nephews, Danny E. White, Chad Loy; great-nephews and nieces, Peter Nicholas Fedyk, Jacob Isaiah Carley, Darby Kate Fedyk, Madison Elizabeth Carley, Annie Quinn Hazelip, Anthony Hazelip, Olivia Grace Bonham, Hayden Ernst, Mason Bradley Bonham-Summers, Vivienne Rose Hazelip and Mary Forney; and many extended family members and close friends.

A visitation will be held between the hours of 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Stoess Funeral Home, 6534 West Highway 22, Crestwood, KY, 40014.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2014 at Duncan Memorial Chapel, 5600 Old Floydsburg Road Crestwood, KY, 40014.
