Powell, James R. "J.R." Bob" "Jim",

passed away Wednesday morning at the Nazareth Home at the age of 80.

Born at Dog Creek, KY, he was a retired foreman for the Ford Motor Co., where he worked for 36 years. Jim and his wife were members of Holy Family Catholic Church for 55 years. He was an Army veteran, coached both Camp Taylor Little League Baseball and Softball, and was proud that he was an accomplished auctioneer.

Preceding him in death were his parents, William C. and Minnie Beatrice Powell; a son Jimmy; three brothers, Lawrence, Ernie and Joe and one sister Eunice.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 54 years, Dolores Elliott Powell; his children, Steve Powell (Bev), Cheryl Klein (Kevin) and Mark Powell (Eve); a sister, Ruby "Boots" Johnston; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Parish, 3926 Poplar Level Road, with burial following at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Friday at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Holy Family church building fund, Susan G.. Komen or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
