Williams, James Drane,

85, entered into eternal rest on August 12, 2014.

Jim, known as Windy, graduated from Manual High School where he was a cheerleader and later graduated from the University of Louisville. He served in the United States Air Force and retired after 43 years from Henry Vogt Machine Company.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 44 years Joyce Patterson Williams, and infant grandson, Christopher Hale.

Jim'a wife of 18 years, Linda; daughters, Debbie (Duray) Hale of Cary, North Carolina, and Terrie (Chris) Maron of Apollo Beach Florida; grandchildren, Jason (Stephanie) Hale of Bluffton, South Carolina, Kristen (Scott) Duncan of Prospect, KY, and Hunter Townsend of Charleston, South Carolina will all miss him. Jim had five great-grand children - Carter, Tyler, and Chase Duncan and Anna and Caroline Hale all under the age of 9 years. His lifelong friend, Larry Carlisle attended University of Louisville School of Business and took every class with him in order that they could graduate together.

A lover of sports led Jim to be the PA announcer for Southern High School football games during the 60's while Debbie attended there. He then called football games at Moore High where Terrie attended.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home on Saturday at noon. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment at Evergreen Cemetery.
