Ruth Fowler Obituary
93, returned to her heavenly father on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Episcopal Church Home.
She was the loving wife of 72 years to the late Reverend Robert Birkhead Fowler. She was a Minister's wife with the Methodist and Nazarene Church for many years and had founded 33 Churches including, Mt. Albert Nazarene Church in Ontario, Canada, Temperence Nazarene Church in Michigan, Kennedy Road Nazarene Church in Toronto, Canada, Norwich Nazarene Church in Norwich, Connecticut and Millinocket Church of the Nazarene which started in a tent in Millinocket, ME. They traveled the world and were active in the New England District.
She assisted her husband with the Presbyterian Minister's Fund Life Insurance Company which has the distinction of being the first Life Insurance Company in America, and they traveled with the Billy Graham Crusade on many occasions. She also assisted him with the Baptist Theological Seminary, the Presbyterian Theological Seminary and the Asbury Methodist Seminary. She was a member of the Nazarene Church and attended Southeast Christian Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Ken Fowler, Randy Fowler (Linda), and Larry Fowler (Joan) and many other extended family members.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday and from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday. A gathering of remembrance in honor of Ruth Fowler will be conducted at noon on Monday, June 5, at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army.

Dear Ken and Randy,
Thank you for having Jane call me regarding your mom's passing. Sadly, I was out of town for vacation during this time and unable to attend the services.
You were blessed to have had parents who left such a wonderful, Christ centered legacy.
I pray she And my mom will meet in their heavenly home now that Ruth has also arrived.
I know, too well, the pain of your loss.
Praise God, HE will wipe away all our tears and we have the hope of, one day, being reunited with our parents in a place where they'll be NO more sorrow, tears, or pain....
