Robert A. "Bob" Bilek Obituary
BILEK, ROBERT A. "BOB," 81, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2009.

A native of Chicago IL, he served in the U.S. Army just prior to the Korean War. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in physics. In 1968, he moved with his wife and daughters to Louisville, where he worked for G.E. for 37 years as a refrigeration engineer. He was a member of the Elfun Society.

Bob and family enjoyed vacationing together. During his lifetime, he visited 47 of 50 states. He was an avid reader, with a special interest in World War II. He loved being outdoors, working in his garden and, especially, playing golf. Bob was a true sports enthusiast, cheering for his Chicago Bears and White Sox.

He enjoyed spoiling his many dogs over the years, and most of all, cherished time with his family.

Bob is preceded in death by his brother, Jerry; and his sisters, Helen Bilek and Georgiana Krivsky.

He is survived by the former Sandra Broz, his loving wife of 51 years; daughters, Nancy Robinson (Larry) of Plano TX and Carrie Bilek, of Homestead, FL; and grandchildren Kristen Robinson and Eric and John Yglesias. He is also survived by his brother, Tony, of Rantoul, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob's wish was to be cremated, with his ashes scattered at a later date. The family will receive visitors from 3-8 p.m. Friday at Pearson's Funeral Home, 149 Breckenridge Lane.

In lieu of flowers, expressions can be made in Bob's name to the ASPCA or to the PGA Foundation. Online condolences to www.pearsonfuneral home.com
