NEW ALBANY - Johnson, Betty Jo, was welcomed into God's loving arms on March 22, 2011 following complications due to a stroke. She was 71.

Born September 20, 1939 in Cincinnati, OH, she was the daughter of Warren and Ruth Willits.

Betty Jo was preceded in death by both of her parents; and her son, Jimmy.

Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 47 years, Jerry; one daughter, Debbie (Rick) Wilson; four sons, Sam, Toby, Joe (Jeane) and Peter Johnson; and five grandchildren: Meghan, Austin, Laney, Olivia and Anabel. Betty Jo also had two brothers, Dave and Jim Willits; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and caring in-laws.

Per Betty Jo's wishes, the immediate family had a private service followed by cremation. Betty Jo's final resting place is in one of the parks where she and Jerry enjoyed walking together. Betty Jo wanted those left behind to celebrate her arrival in glory rather than mourn her absence from her earthly body. We know that she is home after a life of steadfast faithfulness.

The private service was held at the Spring Valley Funeral & Cremation Service in New Albany.
